A kangaroo is a type of furry animal that hops on its hind legs. Kangaroos live mainly in central, southern, and eastern Australia.
Kangaroos are mammals. They feed their young with mother's milk. They are a kind of mammal called a marsupial <<mahr SOO pee uhl>>. Marsupials give birth to very small babies. Most baby marsupials live in a pocket, or pouch, on the mother's belly until they grow larger.
The two main kinds of kangaroos are red kangaroos and gray kangaroos. A full-grown male kangaroo stands about as tall as a man. Female kangaroos are smaller.
Kangaroos have a small head, a pointed nose, and large ears. They have a long tail and large, powerful hind legs. Kangaroos can hop as fast as 30 miles (48 kilometers) per hour. They use their long tails for balance when they hop.

In the Info finder there was more information. I found 57 encyclopedia articles relating to this word, and in the Kids there were only 14 items found. The videos were the same in each book from what I could tell. There were 3 selections in each and I clicked on one and it was the same. The Info Finder had more spicific search places on the home page including Newspaper, Current Events, Biography, Science center and Research tools. This section is definatly going to be more useful to an older student. The exploring on that page is endless.
3. I like the full Text selection so that people do not have to spend time hunting if they need more than just a bit of information. I like opening that page and having the current events right there. It allows a person to catch up with the news while they are doing some research. I also like the SD Government tab if I need to find out any SD information.
Immeadiatly on the right side it listed the Primary Source which I found helpful. If I needed to do a longer report this might not be enough information and I would go back and choose another article. This article only had one primary source. It did have good maps which was one of the left hand tabs. I think the Primary source tab is one of the most useful because it allows you to know immeadiatly how much information you might have avaliable.
Yes, Dee, World Book online is so much more than the print version! Thanks for your work here.
